I gave up reading the Guardian articles when I got to the second sentence of the first article:

"After Partition, as it will presumably become known, the most northerly point on the British mainland will no longer be John O'Groats but Marshall Meadows on the North Sea coast, just off the A1."

It's hard to write a serious article about the end of the union if you don't know the difference between Britain and England.
